An original advent song in praise to a God who remembers promises, a meditation on God's faithfulness and a reminder to hope in the Lord.

Advent is more than just a season that helps us prepare for the Christmas holiday; it’s a season to reconnect to the promises of hope, peace, joy and love. It’s a season to remember the things we are working toward and walking toward in faith, to reconnect with the things we have not yet seen while remembering that God is faithful to finish the work that God has started, both in creation-at-large and in the smallest details of our own lives.

When my friend Pastor Michael Tomson-DeGreeff challenged me to write a new song for Advent back in 2015, these are the things I was thinking about; things very personal and specific to my own life and things universal, not just to all of us who are living now, but across time.

God finishes God’s work, keeps promises and knows just what we need. To wait for God’s salvation does not mean to sit still and do nothing. Rather we are to keep moving forward in faith, trusting God to guide our steps and provide what we need along the way.
