The heavens tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
The heavens tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
Creation speaks of you each day
And even night declares your splendor
There are no words, no one has heard
But, for those whom you've given ears to hear
The heavens tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
The heavens tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
Yes, ever since you made this world
Creation has revealed your glory
We did not know, could not believe
'til that day when you gave us eyes to see
The heavens tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
The heavens tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
Your ways are perfect, Lord
Your words are sure
Help us live them out so through our lives
We can tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
Help us tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
We wanna tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands
Help us tell of your glory, O God
And declare the work of your hands

Psalm 19, Rom 1:20-21
There are a couple of guys at Liberty United Methodist that have talked to me about their love of hunting. One of them, a man named Cary, once told me that being out in nature is really the whole point for him - sure, he'd like to get a deer, but there's a sense of peace and a feeling of restoration he receives from being out in nature, in stillness and quiet, for long stretches of time. He says its one of the places he best connects to God.
The writer of Psalm 19 understood this. They speak of the heavens declaring the work of Gods hands, both day and night. The same idea is echoed by Paul in Romans 1, where he says God's divine nature has been revealed through creation.
God is present and active in creation, all around us, day and night. 24/7, 365. Furthermore, I believe the Holy Spirit of God is with you at all times. Psalm 139 reveals that we couldn't get away from God's presence if we wanted to. 1 Cor 6:17 tells us that God's Holy Spirit is actually one with our own spirit.
Praise God for God's presence, in us, upon us and around us at all times. Pray for eyes to see and ears to hear. Pray that our very lives can become living testaments that point the way to God. Watch a sunset. Take some pictures of butterflies. Be quiet and still in nature. Watch for what creation reveals about God. Listen for God speaking through it all.
